At the roots of the Church and the charism<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

What better way to begin a stay at the heart of Christianity than to attend a general audience of the Holy Father. In his catechesis<\/a> that day, he spoke of the virtue of humility, \u201cthe gateway to all the virtues\u201d. \u201cBlessed are the people who guard this perception of their smallness in their heart!\u201d. As our a Foundress has been described as \u201cthe Great Humble\u201d, that resonates in our hearts! <\/p>\n

Then our four sisters set foot in the footsteps of Rome’s first Christians, discovering St. Peter’s Basilica, built over the tomb of the first head of the Church, the martyrdom sites at the Colosseum and Circus Maximus, the site of St. Paul’s martyrdom (Three Fountains) and burial (St. Paul Outside the Walls), and finally, a visit to a catacomb.<\/p>\n

A Roman stay for the Sisters of the Cenacle also involves an Ignatian itinerary. Our four sisters made a pilgrimage that included the main places where Saint Ignatius of Loyola visited. The mass at the Ges\u00f9 and the time spent in Ignatius’ rooms were particularly moving. <\/p>\n

The stay in the Generalate House was also an opportunity to deepen certain points of the charism, such as our founder’s vision of religious life, our link with the Church and the Pope, and to reconnect with Mother Th\u00e9r\u00e8se’s humility through the objects preserved in the General Archives.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Then, each sister joined a community in Europe for an international experience, in June. They lived in a community, sharing its life and apostolate. Sr Alidah stayed in Rome with the Italian community. The others joined communities in France: Sr Marie Claudine in Toulouse, Srs Rufine and Lucie in Versailles. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our four sisters then met up again from July 2 to 11 to continue their experiences in France. They visited some of the birthplaces of our congregation: Lalouvesc, Mas of Sabli\u00e8re, etc. The entire congregation prayed that this unforgettable experience would be a rich one for each of them. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
