It was he who conceived the idea and strove to realize it in his lifetime by endeavoring in every way to make it understood by his religious (at that time very few in number) and by forming them to the best of his ability for this kind of apostolate which he had in his mind and which could have been only an inspiration from the Holy Spirit. He lived but a short while afterwards. But one retreat house existed, that of La Louvesc, when God called him to Himself. His daughters, however, did not lose confidence, but hoped that from on high, he would continue to protect his work.
