This belief, which attributes a spirit to living beings, objects and natural elements, has a strong influence on the religious life of the Togolese. Many Christians incorporate elements of folk religion into their religious practices.   &lt;\\\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To respond to these cultural and spiritual realities, Sister Emilienne has had to deepen her understanding of the particularities of the Church in Togo. This work of discernment enables her to best accompany those in search of God. This growth is characterized by two main trends: younger and younger catechumens, and catechumens farther and farther from any Christian culture. The Church of France must therefore adapt quickly to this new reality.    &lt;\\\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Within the parish, it was necessary to quickly organize a team to lead the monthly meetings and accompany each young person individually. As many catechumens are unfamiliar with the Christian faith, it&#039;s important not to explain everything at once, but rather to focus on the symbols and essential elements of the faith. The future baptized are gradually introduced to the aspects of the Catholic faith, beliefs and practices. In Singapore, the Cenacle makes itself available to parishes for the spiritual accompaniment of catechumens, particularly during the retreat preceding baptism.
