Dear brothers and sisters,
these are the first words spoken by the risen Christ, the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for God\u2019s flock.
I would like this greeting of peace to resound in your hearts, In your families, among all people wherever they may be, in every nation and throughout the world.
Peace be with you!
It is the peace of the risen Christ. A peace that is unarmed and disarming, humble and persevering. A peace that comes from God, the God who loves us all, unconditionally”<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The greeting of peace from our newly-elected Pope Leo XIV will ring in our ears for a long time to come! As will his invitation <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What a great joy to welcome our new Pastor to St Peter’s Square in the midst of a crowd from all walks of life, knowing that all over the world, so many people had their eyes riveted on the loggia of the Basilica.<\/p>

What great joy to welcome an Augustinian religious<\/strong> pope, born in the US of parents with European origins, who has been a missionary and bishop<\/strong> in Peru, who as Superior General<\/strong> has tended to the unity of his Congregation, present in some fifty countries… so many life experiences which, along with probably many others, have certainly forged in him a<\/p>

From one Urbi et Orbi<\/em> blessing to the next – the last from Pope Francis to the first from Pope Leo – the passing of the baton went peacefully from one Pastor to the next, both wishing for<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the next few years, we will certainly be delighted to discover how the Pope is going to give a new face to the name he has chosen after Leo XIII, who left his mark on his era, by linking faith<\/strong> and social commitment<\/strong> in particular, thus helping to bring about the social doctrine of the Church.<\/p>
