Collaborative Ministries
The little community of Barangka, Marikina City in 2025 continued its collaborative ministries. Sr. Reylie continues to work at the Campus Ministry of the Ateneo de Manila University, and Sr. Cecille ministers to the East Asian Pastoral Institute. Sr. Reylie gave a retreat entitled “Looking Back, Looking Forward: An Examen Retreat” for 12 Ateneo de Manila employees, in which two of our Companions of Our Lady of the Cenacle (COLC) helped in the retreat. Sr. Cecille facilitated a retreat with our lay collaborator, Ms. Pinky Lumayno, entitled: “Be Our Light: A Christmas Retreat Through Art Journaling.”

Our community- Kathleen, Ngaire, Mary, Anne, Clare- gathered to reflect on the past, present and future. We addressed some prophetic questions proposed by Sr Mary Pellegrino, CSJ:
“As Vowed Religious called to be a prophetic witness who are we to be in this moment?”

This picture is a mosaic of Knock Apparition. Knock is now an International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine. I, Helen Grealy, was on the team for the Ignatian Retreat there, July 27th-August 2nd. It was very well attended personally and online.

Paris-Montmartre (France)
Two years ago, I was working as a receptionist and listener every Wednesday morning at St Jean de Montmartre Parish. Raphaël came one Wednesday, told me his story, and at his request, left with a rosary. The following times, we talked about Jesus, Mary, prayer, his daily life, and he left several times with a rosary! Then he invited me to his home, in the community building where he lives, for a cup of coffee, and I met Kader, Abdel, Laurent, Hervé, Odina, mostly men, but also some women, all wounded and battered by life. I met Sabrina, the hostess, who supports them daily in many of their endeavours. Bonds began to form.
Today, I no longer go to the parish. Instead, I come here, to Raphaël’s place, in his community building, once a week. With one, with another, in groups of two or three, we talk, we laugh. Several are Muslims, others are atheists, and a few are Christians. They know I am a sister. We talk about their countries, their families, their health, the war, God, everything. I tell them about my community and what we live together. I am the one who takes time with them, to listen to them and talk to them, to be there, happy to be there, present and truly at home in my mission as a sister of the Cenacle.
