The popular mission was part of the preparations. But this mission is also part of a missionary project of the Province of Brazil, in view of celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Congregation and the 100th anniversary of the Cenacle’s presence in Brazil. The sisters aim to visit certain places where the Congregation has already been present.
The first day of the mission took place in Fortaleza, in one of the communities where Sr Selcineide accompanied a group of young people. Sr Helena, General Councillor, participated in this mission with a few sisters and lay people. On the 22nd, Sr Véronique, General Superior, arrived in Brazil and, with Sr Helena, they went to Crateus where the mission was continuing. The missionary group visited three places in the diocese: Crateus and Independencia, where we had a community, and Saint Antonio dos Azevedos, the village where Sr Selcineide’s parents and family live.
On the 28th, we gathered in unity around Sr Selcineide as she committed to the Congregation through perpetual vows. There was a large gathering of our sister’s parents, family and friends. The celebration continued with a festive moment.
