The sisters of the Sacré-Coeur community in Ambohipo (Antananarivo) contribute to the mission of the Church by encouraging people to live human and spiritual lives and offer various retreats, in particular, the retreat for engaged couples three times a month. We also provide spiritual guidance and active listening for those who want it.

As a community we try to be a hopeful and transforming presence in this dynamic and multicultural city, London, and in particular in the Brixton area, by allowing ourselves to approach and be approached by people of any religious and social background, those searching for meaning, for justice, for peace. We offer them a welcome and listening heart, attentive to their hopes, struggles and dreams. These encounters, some in the more formal context of spiritual conversations/accompaniment, with others in diverse settings e.g. church and civil organizations, invite us, challenge us to be open to the Spirit in our own ongoing personal and community transformation.

For almost 20 years now, the Cenacle Sisters in Singapore have organized a silent retreat called “Quieting the Soul” held at Seven Fountains, the Jesuit Retreat Center in Chiangmai, Thailand. This year, 53 retreatants attended retreats of varying lengths ( 3, 5 and 8 days). It is also a collaboration with 2 lay spiritual directors who are also Cenacle Affiliates and 4 Jesuits at the Center. It is an experience of the power of the Holy Spirit, always enriching for both retreatants and directors!
The Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerants (ACMI) has been a channel of the Cenacle Singapore’s ministry to migrants. These photos were taken from the recent session on “Hope” for the Transnational families, as part of the Christmas celebration organised by ACMI. Some participants courageously shared their hopes for the coming year, which was a heartwarming moment in the session. The session was consecutively translated into Mandarin. (Transnational family units consist of a Singaporean spouse and a foreign spouse. One way that ACMI helps low-income transnational families is through education sponsorship, and every Christmas, organises a party for them.)
