On February 18 & 19 we Cenacle Sisters of the Province of North America and our facilitator held a “Province Gathering” via Zoom technology, and these two days were a very rich experience for us. The Holy Spirit poured out grace upon us as we sat in front of our computers. As you will see in the accompanying photograph, we were gathered in the Upper Room in a manner that reflects our contemporary context!
Because we live in a wide geographical area across the United States, and the health and aging process of some sisters are growing increasingly fragile, technology makes it possible for every sister to participate in the gathering who has the desire and ability to do so. In this way, we try to live a phrase from our General Chapter of 2022:
“Pas sans toi… Not without you”!
Also, using technology makes it possible for us to meet more often than having a single in-person gathering once a year that some sisters would not be able to attend. The ability to have an additional one or two meetings annually helps us to build a deeper communion among ourselves, to nourish the Body of the Province, which in turn nourishes the Body of the Congregation.
While technology cannot take the place of encounters face-to-face, we are grateful that it can help us when we are not able to meet together in-person.
Our next Province Gathering via Zoom in 2025 will take place June 3 & 4, and our annual in-person Province Gathering will occur September 22-26. We are grateful for your prayers for us during those days and we assure you of our prayers for you!
