“When they arrived [in Jerusalem], they went to the Upper Room where they were staying; Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.
All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.”
Acts 1:13-14
Prayer
Father God, as I contemplate the disciples gathered with Mary in the Upper Room, awaiting the Holy Spirit, I want to immerse myself in this blessed moment. Grant me the grace to open my heart to your Spirit, to be united to you in prayer and to do your will. May I be filled with courage and faith, as were the disciples. Amen.

You are invited to contemplate everything that happens in the Cenacle with the eyes of your heart: Imagine the Upper Room, a room filled with humble expectation. The disciples, with the serene presence of Mary, are in communion of heart in prayerful expectation of the promised Spirit.
Now let’s embark on a prayer journey in the Ignatian manner, a gentle path to encountering God:
**Preparation**: Find a quiet space. Close your eyes and take deep, soothing breaths. Let the peace envelop you.
**Presence**: Imagine entering the room where the disciples are meeting. Feel the warmth of the candles, hear the soft murmur of the prayers and sense the longing in the air. You are among them, welcomed into their group.
**Prayer**: Ask for the grace to be open to the presence of the Spirit, to be enlightened and transformed by God’s love, as the disciples were.
**Contemplation**: With the eye of your heart, look at Mary and the disciples. Observe their faces, their postures, their expressions of faith. Consider the deep trust and hope that fill them as they await the Spirit.
**Dialogue**: Have a sincere conversation with Jesus, Mary or one of the disciples. Share your desires, fears and hopes. Listen to their wisdom and let their faith inspire you.
**Conclusion**: Say a prayer of thanksgiving for this time of grace and renewed spirit. Be convinced that, just as the Spirit descended on the disciples, he will fill your heart with love and grace.
