In Togo, the feast of Mother Thérèse on September 26 had a special significance. The Cenacle of Vo-Pédakondji (Vogan) had invited many members of the Fraternity, collaborators, and friends to a Mass of thanksgiving for the 30 years of the Sisters of the Cenacle’s presence in Togo and to bid farewell to Sister Simone Daneels.
Sister Simone was one of the three sisters sent in September 1996 to begin the apostolate in Togo. She has thus been fully living out the Cenacle’s mission in this country for 30 years, having come to love its culture and people.
Throughout the day, there was, of course, no shortage of singing, dancing, and food. There was also a scavenger hunt that was followed with interest by all our friends in attendance, who took turns visiting the various workshops scattered throughout the house.
It was a day full of joy and emotion—one that will remain etched in everyone’s memory!
