Four hundred and fifty parishioners, religious, priests, friends and ministry colleagues gathered in Te Whaea Tapu o Kāpiti, Our Lady of Kāpiti Parish Church, NZ.
We celebrated the Feast Day Mass of Mother Thérèse. This was livestreamed, enabling over 400 of our international Cenacle Family, friends and our families to participate.
Archbishop Paul’s homily truly captured the essence of who we are as Cenacle. He was generous in his gratitude to all the Cenacle Sisters who have lived and served in the Archdiocese of Wellington and throughout Aotearoa NZ and Australia.
His homily was personal and stirred a renewed sense of our Cenacle vocation within us and our Cenacle Companions, many of whom were able to be present in person and online from Australia. He encouraged all those present to truly encounter God.
These historical encounters reminding us that the Cenacle, the Upper Room, is so much more than a physical space. It is a heart space. It is a sacred place where intentional listening leads to genuine encounter, reconciliation, healing, and renewal for mission.
Gratitude, joy, the warmth of connections and the lively sharing of memories and hopes marked the occasion.
It has been energising and a source of joy to receive so many messages from other religious Congregations, lay people and our Cenacle Sisters around the world.
