From 14-21 May an extraordinary event occurred in our Congregation. All the sisters throughout the Congregation took time out of their daily schedules to take part in an 8-day retreat organized by an international group of our sisters.
The theme, “On Pilgrimage Together as Cenacle”, guided us on an inner journey through the daily reflections. We revisited our history, encountered our founders, Stephen Terme and Thérèse Couderc, and reconnected with the source of our charism and mission. We also reflected on how God is calling us to live out our unique mission in the world today.
All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus.
Acts 1:14
This multicultural and intercultural experience was further enriched by online times of prayer and encounters with sisters from other parts of the Congregation, making it a true Cenacle experience and a Pentecost experience—gathered in prayer, united in diversity, and open to the transforming action of the Holy Spirit.
Each day the resources prepared with the additional symbols found in the prayer room were like a map for the pilgrimage:
1. Walking the landscape of our hearts
Walking the path with my sisters and members of the Cenacle Family…….
2. Walking the landscape of our personal Cenacle journey
Giving thanks with a grateful heart … for Cenacle Vocation
3. Walking the landscape of our Cenacle heritage
Giving thanks with a grateful heart …for Sisters and Cenacle Family members who followed the call of Jesus and walked before us…
4. Walking the landscape of our sources
Making space in my heart for a new, deep personal encounter with Mother Therese and Father Terme…
5. Stopover in the Upper Room (Digital Upper Room)
The Upper Room in our World today….a heart that ardently desires and opens itself to the Holy Spirit
6. Walking the landscape of our global contexts today
Contemplate Christ present in the world ….
7. Walking the landscape of our Global contexts today
Hear the Call of Jesus Christ for our Congregation…
8. Stopover in the Upper Room (Digital Upper Room)
Our hearts filled with gratitude for the blessings received and a journey shared with all our Sisters throughout the Congregation.
Filled with the joys and Blessings of this retreat we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Cenacle on Saturday 23 May.
“Jesus said: Holy Father, keep those you have given me true to your name, so that they may be one like us.”
